Gant glasses
By Harmen Verdana

My brother has just been for an eye test and has been told that he has to wear glasses all the time from now on. Initially he was horrified at the idea and was totally convinced that no member of the opposite sex would ever look at him again. Luckily he has a very stylish friend who wears Gant Glasses and, when he saw his friend in them, my brother said reluctantly that if he had to wear glasses then they must be Gant Glasses. The whole family was really relieved and we all were really impressed by how stylish Gant Glasses were. When he went to the opticians to choose a pair, my mother said she was really impressed by how many different styles were on offer. My brother was happy as he found a really stylish pair. Although he found them irritating and difficult to wear at first, he had to admit that his eyesight was improved incredibly. He actually said that he could see things he had not been able to for ages! What is more, he has had a lot of attention from people commenting how nice his glasses are and, he has even got a new girlfriend. So much for people saying that girls don`t make passes at men who wear glasses!

The term ?smoking` is generally used to describe the habit of cigarette smoking or pipe smoking in which one uses substances such as tobacco or other common drugs including cannabis, marijuana and cocaine. Cigarettes, along with alcohol and cannabis, are considered to be a gateway drug. This is because people usually indulge in smoking to get away from worries of daily life or to simply enjoy puffing smoke through their mouth. Although smoking itself has many hazardous effects, it becomes more dangerous when people smoke cannabis, heroin, cocaine and pot instead of tobacco. There are some theories that describe the increased smoking habits among young people. Some people consider tobacco advertisement as the real cause behind the development of smoking habits. In fact, the actual effectiveness of tobacco advertisement is widely documented scientifically. Many anti-smoking organizations say that teenagers begin their smoking habits due to peer pressure. One study showed that individuals play a more active role in starting to smoke than has previously been acknowledged and that social processes other than peer pressure need to be taken into account. Another study`s results revealed that peer pressure was significantly associated with smoking behavior across all age and gender cohorts, but intrapersonal factors were significantly more important to the smoking behavior of young girls and boys. There are many effective ways to stop smoking. Many of tobacco`s health effects can be minimized by asking the people to stop smoking. A famous British doctors` study shows that those who stop smoking before they reach 30 years of age live almost as long as those who never smoked. It is also possible to reduce the risks by reducing the frequency of smoking and also by maintaining a proper diet and exercise. Smokers who want to stop smoking or want to temporarily abstain from smoking can use a variety of nicotine-containing tobacco substitutes, or nicotine replacement therapy products to temporarily lessen the physical withdrawal symptoms. Nicotine gum and lozenges are very popular in this regard. Nicotine patches are also used by people to stop smoking completely. Medications that do not contain nicotine can also be used to stop smoking, such as bupropion.
