My friend has been doing a lot of research about Native Americans lately as part of her degree course. She has found out all sorts of really interesting facts about them and one of the things she has really enjoyed finding out about is the
Native American Dream Catcher. When I asked her what a
Native American Dream Catcher was, she explained to me that it was a sort of dangling ornament made up of a frame with feathers or something similar dangling from the frame. This would then catch any bad dreams so that children could go to sleep happily without any bad dreams to plague them. I thought that the
Native American Dream Catcher sounded like a really lovely thing to have and asked her if I could get one for my little girl. The reason I thought of this is because she has been complaining quite a lot about getting bad dreams lately. This has really been difficult for me to deal with as she is getting out of bed two or three times in the middle of the night and waking up the whole household. I think that if I could explain to her this custom and put one in her bedroom it might just completely stop these night time disruptions.

After a bad injury my brother had to have surgery, he was very scared and worried about the whole procedure but we all tried to reassure him and put his mind at rest. When the surgeon was explaining to my mum the procedure he mentioned needle fasciotomy several times, along with many other complicated words but this one seemed very important in the operation and I tried to listen very hard to understand what it meant. I felt very worried inside as needle fasciotomy didn`t sound too good, but my mum explained the surgeon knew what he was talking about and at that point reassured me the professionals do this kind of work every day. My brother`s nurse was a very nice lady and always made sure he was comfortable and had everything he needed, I asked her what needle fasciotomy was and she briefly explained that it is an outpatient procedure where one or more fibrous bands are cut and sectioned using a blade or a bevel of a needle.
